“Nuqaq” (Throwing Board) wood and ivory throwing board and spear SOLDIf you would like a similar item created for you, please contact Teacon here. Alutiiq hunters used throwing boards (also known as adl-adls) to increase the power and distance of their spears while hunting for sea mammals in a sitting position in their kayaks. Walrus ivory was not available in Kodiak waters. Ivory was obtained through trade with northern peoples; therefore, ivory was a status of wealth.
